You want culture? Tok town is filled with culture! Tokoroa is known as the 'sixteenth star'. There are 15 islands in the Cook Islands, which are represented on their flag with 15 stars. Tokoroa is known as the 16th star because it’s the biggest Cook Island community outside of the Cook Islands. You can usually hear the beat of the island drums on most days and fill your stomach with island donuts from all the mamas on most days. This town holds numerous cultural days to celebrate and enjoy all the different cultures!

You would be hard-pressed to find another town as family orientated as this one! Here it’s not only blood that makes you family, just being from Tokoroa makes you family.
