As a rural town, it has everything you need. It's the hub of the sheep, beef and dairy farming industries of the Tararua region; the community is strong and close-knit, bonding over farming, fishing and their love of Tui beer, which is handy as the brewery is right on their doorstep!

The Fonterra Dairy factory is a big employer and keeps the town humming with recent upgrades creating even more employment opportunities and guaranteeing the town the freshest dairy products they could ask for.
