Need help finding a rental?

It helps working with a trusted and reputable agency.

Our team of professional property management specialists manage thousands of rental properties nationally. We are committed to working with you to make renting through Property Brokers a straightforward and stress-free experience. We are proud to live, work and play in our local communities, and have provided outstanding service to both tenants and landlords alike since 1986.

Whether you are renting for the first time or are a seasoned tenant, we are on hand to help you find your perfect property.

Quality rental properties across heartland New Zealand

We manage thousands of quality properties from the top of the North down to the deep South. We have access to an extensive range of properties that are sure to tick your boxes.

Robust accounting

Your rent is paid into our audited trust account; it is then paid to your landlord. Property Brokers invests in the latest technology to ensure all funds are managed diligently. Built on contemporary architecture, the trust account system integrates seamlessly with third-party providers allowing us to provide a tailored management solution for our clients.

Regulated, transparent and trustworthy.

As a member of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ), our business is regulated under the Real Estate Agents Act. The pursuit of excellence is a goal for any business that provides a service. At Property Brokers, we are serious about improving on what we do, and therefore we ask. A partnership with Ask Nicely enables us to survey both investors and tenants seamlessly. This process is triggered by specific actions within our management software, which allows us to hear from everyone.

Centralised and specialised maintenance.

We are the only property management agency in New Zealand that utilises centralised maintenance to facilitate and manage maintenance. The initiative allows us to respond to remedial work quickly, effectively manage partnerships with tradespeople, obtain good pricing, and effectively communicate to all parties.

We're local, like you.

With property management teams across provincial New Zealand, we live where you live. We are committed to contributing to the health and wellbeing of our local communities. We know our communities intimately and would love to help you find your next home.

One approach. One team.

Together with the backing of our company, we are dedicated to raising the bar in the industry for tenants and landlords. We know the rental market is ever-changing, and with the new legislative requirements across the industry, we see duties as Properties Managers changing and growing. No longer is it just about managing properties; it is about compliance, navigating change and mitigating exposure. We have a strong focus on technology, communication and outstanding customer service.

Family owned and operated.

We're fiercely proud of being a New Zealand owned family business, ensuring that profits and people stay right here. We're just hard-working, honest folk with clear business principles and ethics we hold dear, accountable only to our own family and you, our valued clients.

We have highlighted some information below, which will need to be completed prior to moving into your rental.

Tenancy application forms

A tenancy application form will need to be completed and signed prior to moving into your rental. We will also require references from you - a reference could come from a previous landlord, employer or property manager. Tenancy Application Forms are available through your local Property Manager. To obtain a Tenancy Application form, please contact a Property Brokers branch near you and speak to one of our Property Managers.

Proof of income

If you are selected as a preferred applicant, we will request proof of income.

Identification

You will be required to provide proof of identification; this can be in the form of your driver's license, passport or photo ID.

Cost and fees

We will request that a bond amount be paid in advance. This will need to be paid up-front to ensure that you're in advance. A bond will usually be the equivalent of four weeks' rent and will be held by Tenancy Services (in the event that there is property damage at the end of your lease). Your bond will be returned to you once it has been confirmed that the home has been left in a reasonable condition.

Rental history

Are you a first-time renter? If so, you may be concerned about providing a rental history as this may not be something you have available. We will be looking for your ability to make regular rental payments, care for the property and meet the conditions and terms of the rental agreement.
