Welcome to

Ōtaki is a small service town that is located close to the Ōtaki River's north bank. Due to the presence of a Maori college and numerous marae in and around Ōtaki, the area has considerable historical significance for Maori. Ōtaki's biggest draw is its close proximity to the Tararua Range walkways. There are picnic, swimming, and camping areas at Ōtaki Forks. There are many hiker cabins in the ranges, and hiking routes range from short strolls to multi-day excursions. Wide and windy Ōtaki Beach is a wonderful location for an energising run or walk.
