Unfortunately, I do not have a crystal ball, but I can tell you we are coming into the "post-Covid-19" real estate market off years of record growth.
Confidence will not be high in the coming weeks but what I do know is people will still need to buy and sell homes once we have found a new normal. The OCR has been cut to 0.25%, so money is cheaper than ever to borrow, at last count, New Zealand was still short of housing. And, with share market values and other securities fluctuating, the thought of good old bricks and mortar may arguably be safer.
