The Property Brokers Hawke's Bay Charity Auction celebrated its 18th year with resounding success, raising more than $62,000 in support of the Cancer Society, Hawke's Bay Rescue Helicopter, and the Property Brokers Hawke's Bay Community Fund. The event, which took place on Thursday, October 5th, in Hastings, drew an enthusiastic crowd of 400 attendees.
Known for its exceptional lineup of auction items and experiences, this year's charity auction did not disappoint. A total of 46 lots and an additional 35 items were featured in the silent auction, ensuring an engaging and entertaining evening for all.
Property Brokers Managing Director, Guy Mordaunt, expressed his pride in the event's evolution over the years, stating, "It's pretty special to see people rally together, step in, and raise much-needed funds for some of the most vulnerable in our community. 18 years ago, we ran the first Property Brokers Hawke's Bay Charity Auction - it started on a whim and was held in the carpark of our Hastings office (which was an old house). It's now become an iconic Hawke's Bay calendar event. We are incredibly proud of the efforts of our team and delighted with the continuous support from the Hawke's Bay community."
The evening's auction was energized by Mordaunt, Hawke's Bay Regional Manager Joe Snee, Napier Area Manager Grant Bailey, and Residential Sales Consultant Kevin Waggs, who engaged the entire room with their dynamic auctioneering, resulting in lively bidding and laughter throughout the night.
Snee commended the event's success, saying, "It was another really successful event; hundreds of people came together at the Toitoi Hawke's Bay Arts and Events Centre in Hastings to have a great time and bid up large. This amazing result wouldn't have been possible without the hard work of the Property Brokers team, our generous sponsors and supporters, and the wonderful Hawke's Bay community who put their hands in their pockets to support these wonderful causes."
The auction featured a remarkable array of items, including a Squire by Fender electric guitar signed by New Zealand music legend Sir Dave Dobbyn, enticing getaways, a framed golf shirt autographed by Michael Campbell, a David Trubridge light, a golf weekend escape in Kinloch, and more.
The event's auctioneers, Mordaunt and Snee, were assisted by Waggs, who served as the Master of Ceremonies throughout the evening.
Among the crowd's favourite items were a painting titled "Sold!" by Robyn Bastin, three bottles of the prestigious 2013 vintage Craggy Range wine, a voucher for a waka experience aboard Te Matau a Maui in Ahuriri for up to twenty people, a case of Alpha Domus Beatrix Sparkling Rose, and others. Other experience, artwork, and wine lots also garnered substantial interest.
The Property Brokers Hawke's Bay Charity Auction continues to play a vital role in supporting local charitable and community causes, making a positive impact on the Hawke's Bay region.
