The buzz around the Property Brokers' Side-by-Side Campaign has finally reached its peak, and we are beyond excited to announce that Waimate Beef and Dairy Support farmers, Mark and Dianne Chamberlain, are the grand prize winners! This campaign, which has generated significant interest amongst the rural community, culminated in a moment of pure joy last week when Property Brokers Rural Sales Consultant, Michael Richardson, Honda Timaru representative Jeremy Shaw, Farmlands representative, Rachel Rooney, drove up to the farm in the UTV, to deliver the good news and their prize!
For Mark & Dianne, the news was nothing short of thrilling. "Thank you, Property Brokers! I've only ever won an ice block when I was six years old, so this is really special," Dianne exclaimed, still trying to grasp the reality of winning a new Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) for their farm.
The Honda Side-by-Side campaign ran from the beginning of March through to the end of June 2025, with an extensive marketing campaign including National Fieldays, which engaged rural and lifestyle property owners and Farmlands Shareholders across regional New Zealand. Thanks to our strategic partnership with Farmlands, we split the cost of the Honda with them which was purchased direct from Honda, and collected from Jeremy at Honda Timaru.
To be in to win, property owners had their property appraised by one of our sales consultants during the campaign period, and if they went on to list, they doubled their chance of winning, which is precisely what the Chamberlains, who are also Farmlands Shareholders, did.
"They were shocked when I handed over the keys," says Michael. "They are leaving the farming industry, but they are fantastic recipients of the Side-by-Side and will use it on their adventures hunting and fishing. It was so special to see this campaign start in Timaru with our team as models for the campaign, and to end with my clients".
Michael Richardson, our Timaru-based Rural/Lifestyle Sales Consultant who met with the Chamberlains and appraised their property, shared his thoughts on the moment he heard his vendors had won the big prize and surprising them with the delivery of the Honda Pioneer 1000 valued at $33,920! "Their first thoughts were as they saw me driving up the road in a UTV with a convoy behind me, was some idiot wasn't letting the cars pass them, then I drove up the driveway and met them and shared the good news". Being typical rural folk, they had also prepared lunch for Michael in preparation for his visit, which they assumed was to discuss business.
