COVID-19 impacts on our business

COVID-19 impacts on our business

Since the restrictions were first introduced in 2020, our property management team have been busy behind the scenes doing everything they can for our valued landlords and tenants.Property Brokers' offices have a clear plan and can move between levels as necessary. Under all level restrictions across New Zealand, our business will continue to work to the government-approved Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ) guidelines and adapt accordingly.

Operating at different protection framework (traffic light system) requirements

Rest assured that throughout all protection framework (traffic light system) requirements, our Property Managers will still be working behind the scenes to manage rental properties and support landlords and tenants; our support centre also continues to work to ensure that all financial and legal requirements are still met. Our sales team are still taking enquiries and doing the best they can to support vendors and buyers.

Please click on the specific link to see how this may affect you.

Contact tracing

At all Alert Levels, we all must do our part to keep good records. We may at times request additional information from prospective tenants; however, this is purely to meet Ministry of Health guidelines, and any information captured will remain private and confidential.

PPE and safety

Property Brokers has integrated a Safety Plan across the business that sees specific requirements for each department. Under all protection framework (traffic light system) requirements, we need to remain vigilant and maintain social distancing where possible and use the necessary PPE when dealing with clients. For all viewings, cleaning procedures and contact tracing will be in place.

Appraisals and enquiry

At all protection framework (traffic light system) levels, we can conduct appraisals of properties, whether that is for new clients or existing ones. Whether you want to speak to our team about our service, receive an appraisal from the bank or require a review for the sale of a property, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Insurance policies

We urge you to check your policies or get in touch with your Property Manager to discuss how deferred inspections may affect your insurance

We all have a part to play in keeping each other safe, and if at any stage it is determined that an existing tenant, tradesperson or prospective applicant is sick, or has been exposed to the virus within the last two weeks, then we will take all necessary precautions.

 Stay safe!

  • Talk with your workers to identify risks and ways to manage them.
  • Ask everyone (workers, contractors and customers) with cold or flu-like symptoms to stay home.
  • Keep groups of customers at a safe distance from each other where possible.
  • Keep contact tracing records of anyone who will have close interaction.
  • Reduce the number of shared surfaces and regularly disinfect them.
  • Wash your hands.
