Health & Safety Visitor Instructions

Please read and comply with the following to ensure your health and safety whilst in our workplace:

  • As a visitor to non-public areas you must be escorted and supervised by a member of our staff at all times whilst in our workplace.
  • Do not enter any restricted area or touch any equipment unless authorised to do so.
  • Please note any specific safety requirements displayed and follow them appropriately.
  • Please report any significant risks you become aware of, or any accidents or incidents, to your host

Emergency signal

  • If you hear a signal that indicates an emergency, leave the building by the nearest available exit as quickly and calmly as possible.
  • Where possible, remain with your host or follow our other workers to the assembly point and await further instructions.

Please ensure you are aware of where the assembly points are for this location, your host will have this information, and it will be displayed in the branch.


PLEASE NOTE

  • In case of emergency or evacuation, DO NOT return for your documents or personal items. You must not re-enter the building until instructed that it is safe to do so.
  • If you discover a fire or witness an accident, inform your host or the Branch Administrator immediately. 
  • We have a first aid kit on site. If you have an accident or feel unwell, inform your host immediately.
  • If you have any questions relating to the above points, or any other concerns, please discuss these with your host.

1. Purpose

  1. This policy states the commitment of Property Brokers to the health and safety of all employees, contractors, and visitors who have the potential to be affected by our activities and our places of work. 

2. Policy Scope

  1. This policy applies to all Property Brokers employees.
  2. Under the Health & Safety at Work Act, real estate salespeople are considered employees and therefore workers. 

3. Policy Statement

  1. Property Brokers has a duty to provide and maintain an environment that is safe for employees, contractors and visitors. This will be done in a proactive, consultative and positive manner.
  2. Property Brokers is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment and actively promoting safe working conditions and practices. Risk of injury will be reduced by job design, equipment design and work practices. Hazards will be eliminated or minimized.
  3. Health & Safety events will be reported and investigated to help further eliminate any hazards. 

4. Property Brokers and its Management team will:

  1. Provide safe working conditions and a safe system of work, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
  2. Provide written guidelines and procedures to ensure that safe systems of work and are made known to employees, contractors and visitors where necessary.
  3. Continuously monitor and review processes, performance, equipment and workspaces to minimise risk and injury and ensure potential hazards are reported and addressed as quickly as possible.
  4. Encourage employee participation in the development and implementation of OH&S policies and procedures and the resolution of safety issues.
  5. Supporting any injured/ill employee to facilitate their safe and timely return to work.
  6. Allocation of adequate resources required to fulfil the aims of this policy. 

5. Employees and Contractors will:

  1. Understand, observe and adhere to all safety procedures, policies and relevant legislation.
  2. Implement and maintain safe work practices.
  3. Take reasonable care of themselves and others who may be affected by their actions.
  4. Assist in the early identification of potential workplace hazards and the immediate execution of corrective action to minimize the risk of accident or injury.
