Doug Wakelin has been involved in the rural sector in some form or another his entire working life since completing his education at Te Awamutu College in the early 1980s.
After a successful coastal property development, a career in real estate seemed like a natural progression, with Doug taking a rural sales consultant role in 2005. In 2017, Doug was fortunate to be offered a position at Property Brokers, where he has been able to take advantage of the strong rural “Property Brokers” brand.
Outside of a busy real estate career, Doug’s other interests include rugby team management, hunting and fishing, and following his three adult children’s interests, in particular his youngest son’s progression through the dairy farming industry.
"It is my pleasure to provide a testimonial for Doug Wakelin. Doug was the salesperson who listed and sold our dairy farm in Te Awamutu in 2013. Our farm sale was not an easy project, as it was a family-owned farm tied up with various estate issues. This meant it had the additional complication of dealing with a number of interested parties during the sale of the farm. Doug dealt with these issues and interested parties in a professional and easy manner.
This was a tremendous help to me and my husband during this rather difficult situation. Doug had a calm and very positive approach and we always felt he had our best interests in selling our farm. This showed with a good result in selling the farm. Doug is very professional and we would have no hesitation in recommending him."
