Conrad spent 16 years of his career with the BNZ initially as Regional Agribusiness Manager for the Central North Island based in Palmerston North right through to BNZ General Manager Agribusiness based in Auckland. He started his working career in 1989 with the Rural Banking & Finance Corporation here in the Manawatu and has also owned and managed his own farm and property development in Hanmer Springs for the last 10 years. He also a chairs the Hopkins family board and has contributed a lot of time to the local community including the Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board and Talent Central which looks to assist Manawatu's youth into careers.
Conrad has a Bachelor of Agriculture (Rural Valuation) from Massey University and a Diploma in Business Studies (Commercial Valuation and Property Management). He lives in the Pohangina Valley, near Ashhurst in the Manawatu with his partner, Jeanette and their blended family of 4 boys aged 12-15 and they are engaged to be married early next year. He is keen on sporting and outdoor pursuits and has run several marathons in the 'distant' past but favours the bike these days.
