Property Brokers visit the world’s biggest real estate conference

The National Association of Realtors conference was recently held in San Francisco and attended by a delegation from Property Brokers.  The largest real estate conference in the world was a five day affair spread over the 2 million square feet of the Moscone Centre and covered all aspects of real estate trends, practices and technology.  NAR has over 1 million members and the conference was attended by delegates from 63 countries around the world.

Principle Tim Mordaunt, Regional Manager Paul Roache and Marketing Manager Guy Mordaunt attended this event along with representatives from their NZ Realtor partners Morley and Associates and Summit Realty.

“It is really important that Property Brokers are at the leading edge of Real Estate worldwide and especially in New Zealand so we can feel confident that our customers and clients are receiving the absolute best service available”, said Guy Mordaunt.  “We spend a lot of time and money developing and training the organisation, attending conferences and sourcing new ideas that will add value to our clients so it was natural that we would attend the leading conference in the world even if it meant travelling a further afield.”

With 7-10 topics being run during every time slot over 5 days the depth and breadth of information can be overwhelming for the 21,000 attendees to take in.  Leading North American trainers and institute figures ran multiple topics throughout the conference including Lawrence Yun, Gary Thomas, Ed Hatch, Bob Wolff, Brian Buffini with the conference capped by a keynote address from former US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Mr Mordaunt went on “ The access to information was outstanding and as with the industry internationally there is a fantastic undertaking to share ideas and knowledge that can improve the industry.  With over 400 exhibitors showing products from the very simple to absolute state of the art the trip has more than paid for itself and I can’t wait to get back and scope out these initiatives for our business."

Washington State is the American host of New Zealand’s NAR delegation and members from the group are visiting New Zealand next year to see the country’s real estate practices and try to liaise with REINZ.
