A very private paradise
The Mangatarere Valley holds a special place in the hearts of those who live there. It's off the beaten track, private and largely undeveloped. It's certainly not for everyone, but for those who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of life it's just what the doctor ordered.
My vendors are offering a 23 hectare (subject to final survey) block of paradise incorporating beautiful native bush, access to the Mangatarere Stream, and host to a wide variety of wildlife. If you're a keen hunter or tramper it could make an ideal weekend base. Hunt on your own land or trek up into the Tararua Forest Park, which is almost literally at your doorstep. Whether it's deer, pigs or goats you're after, you'll be keeping the freezer well stocked.
There's plenty of Manuka of course, so if bees are your thing then this country is ideal.
There's access to a phone line, and you'll be self sufficient for power. A natural water source up the hill could be used for drinking water, or simply rely on rainwater tanks.
This is a very special part of the Wairarapa and it's not often that the opportunity comes up to acquire a stake in it. Give me a call, grab your boots and we'll head up for a look.
